Sexual harassment survey for young people
Help us understand young people's experiences of sexual harassment by taking part in our survey, created in partnership with Wandsworth Youth Council.
What is sexual harassment?
Sexual harassment is any unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature that makes someone feel uncomfortable, intimidated, humiliated, offended, or unsafe. It can happen in person, online, or through messages. Find out more about how to recognise sexual harassment.
It is never the fault of the person experiencing it, and support is available if it happens to you.
Why we've created this survey
This survey forms part of our work to tackle violence, abuse and harassment, helping to make the borough safer for all young people.
Who can take part
We would like to hear from young people aged 11 to 19 (or up to 25 if you have SEND), who live, study in or spend time in Wandsworth.
Even if you haven't personally experienced sexual harassment, your views and experiences are still valuable.
You may have:
- Witnessed something happening to someone else
- Heard about experiences from friends, classmates, or colleagues
- Noticed places or situations where people feel unsafe
- Had ideas about what could help make your school, college, workplace, or community safer
If a question doesn't apply to you, you can simply skip it. Please answer only the questions you feel comfortable responding to.
Every response helps us build a better understanding of people's experiences and perceptions and can help inform actions to improve safety for everyone.
Support and advice
The survey talks about sexual harassment, which some people may find upsetting or difficult.
If you are upset by the survey, you can stop at any point. You may also want to speak to a trusted adult, a member of staff, or a support service.

The survey is anonymous. It will not collect your personal information unless you choose to share this.

How we'll use the results
The survey results will help inform our wider Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) work, which focuses on tackling harmful attitudes and behaviours, promoting healthy relationships, and making public spaces, schools and online environments safer for everyone. The term Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) is used because women and girls are more likely to experience these types of abuse. However, we know that abuse can affect people of all genders, and everyone who has experienced abuse deserves support.
We will use the results to produce a report, inform conversations with schools and professionals, and support an action plan for improving safety for young people. Information will be circulated on our website, social media pages, and directly with schools.
