Pre-election period

In the run-up to an election there is a period of heightened sensitivity coinciding with the publication of the election notice, commonly known as the pre-election period.

In order to maintain principles of good governance and avoid conflict over issues which may cause contention, no ePetitions can be submitted or signed during the pre-election period from 30 March to 7 May 2026.

The ePetitions facility will be suspended on 30 March 2026 and will be reactivated after the election.
